Just wanted to send a quick note to let you all know that we had a very successful event in NYC this afternoon.
I did a demo on the database and it was a big hit!!! We also told all the participants to check out the web feature as well.
Population Reference Bureau
Our team lead both the creative direction and technical execution for this project which was highly rewarding to work on due to its impact and the overall technical challenges we managed to overcome. Being that the data was pulled from sources all over the world and most of the survey data was published inconsistently (some every 1-2, 3-5, or 6-7 years) this made figuring out a consistent way to visualize the charts particularly challenging.
We managed to overcome this by creating rules and simple filters to prompt the user on the best ways and formats to retrieve their desired data set. We used a branded color palette and customized Material Design components to expedite the timeline for a conference that was quickly approaching.
Overall, the overarching question that our team asked consistently was - "what is the ideal way for users to experience this platform"? Our design and development solutions came soon after the research was completed.
